Looking for clear containers...

dawnrenee2000 Mar 23, 2006 03:20 PM

Does anyone know where I can find the completely CLEAR storage bins to use in one of my rack systems?

I see in pics that some people have them. Mine are currently all using the sterilite containers which are see through but are a plastic hazed visual. I would like the more crystal clear style for one of my racks. Any information is appreciated.

Thanks
Dawn Renee

Reptiletubs.com The size I have are not completely clear, but great for viewing my snakes. Good pricing and shipping isn't as bad as you'd think. Their water bowls are awesome, the only thing I've found that my brooksi won't flip over!

Dawn,

I use containers from The Container Store. They are all crystal clear and when Rubbermaid stopped making the good old ones with the tops that were sealed shut ( herpers from the 90s will remember these ), I had to look elsewhere.

If you don't have a Container Store in your city, they may have a website.

Look down a few posts to fighterpilot's post "First attempt at breeding.."

Those boxes there are made by Cambro. They are available at Smart&Final stores or from Cambro's website I think. They are more costly but don't break. You can drop them, kick them, etc.

If you want to drill them, use a Uni-Bit because the polycarbonate material drills much better with this kind of bit.

They come in sizes something like 12x6x4, 11x14x4, 14x22x4. They also have lids available if you want a lidded rack. The lids are very flat and just as clear.

Sweet!

They are durable, and clear as glass.

Most restaurant supply stores will carry them. My local one gets them cheaper then anywhere I have found online.

Here's a link to the poly-carb boxes.
