i just got a BAH 1000 Thermostat. i have a ball room rack from boafile. i believe i read some where that i can place the prob directly on the heat tape and tape it in place. before i do this and waste $30 can anyone one confirm this and give me pros/cons if any?

Yes you can tape it to your heat tape.
Use foil tape. My thermostat is set at 105F and inside my tubs (CB70) is 92F on the hot side and 82F on the cool side. You will need to play with it until you get the temps you want.
