Pics of Charlie FINNALY!! my first cham.

captotterboy Mar 24, 2006 02:18 PM

Hey,
I finnaly got that digital camera and i can post pics. The first one is his enclosure. To the left if a heat lamp. To the right is a 20 (75?) watt uvb bulb with an 18" flourecent uvb behind it. The plants are umbrella and pothos with a climbing vine to let him up near the heat lamp.

The next is the day after i moved him in so he isnt up to full color yet, and the last one i like to entitle... 'Le Morte de Mealworm'

-enjoy

He looks good! nice color pattern. He looks neat all tan and yellow!

I know there was a lengthy thread below and I did not read it all, so sorry if I am repeating anything...you will be putting him in a full size (2x2x4) cage soon? You did repot and clean up the plants, right? If you did not wash down the scheff (umbrella) you can take a paper towel swished in a dilution of dish soap and water to wipe them off and then rinse (the soap won't hurt him).

Hey,
I did wash the plants, but instead of repotting them i put a screen mesh over the soil so that nothing can get to the soil, but i can still water it. The cage itself is 30x18x30. I thought this would be big enough for a while until he gets a little bigger.

Let me know.

I can't believe he's eating out your hand already! You lucky duck! Mine run for cover if I come NEAR them-even with food! Diane

Hehe, thanks.

He doesnt really run from anything. He is not to fond of me putting my hand close to him (like when i have to to do something). he doesnt hiss or move, he just hesitates a bit. He doesnt mind comming across the cage to me (again, when i am doing something). and he is definatly not shy about food from my hand or a small dish.

The only time he really seems unconfortable is when i mist the cage. Even if i dont mist near him, he just seems like he doesnt like it. I have tried heating the water, and it helped a little. Oh well, he'll just have to live with it and ill try my best to mist around him, not on him.

BTW, his color seems to be getting better and brighter every day as he gets more and more confortable in his cage.
