I recently ventured into Oustelet territory after breeding Veileds and keeping Flapnecks. I understand that these are harder to keep and even harder to breed, but I have a few questions. I purchased a WC pair at a show on Sunday and the female died on Wednesday. The odd thing is that the male is the one I thought I would have trouble with. I am almost certain that it was parasites, they both drank like crazy on Sunday when I got them in the cage but I didn't see any eating from either of them. The male started eating on Thursday. I would appriciate any tips or suggestions on Oustelets in general. The male is about 8 inches SV, how old do you think he is? I know there is generaly no guarantee on reptiles let alone WC, but do you think that I should get some kind of deal on another female from the guy I purchased this pair from? I havn't been able to get ahold of him and I know that he had another female. I paid 150.00 for the pair and I don't want to call it a loss just yet.

It would for sure try and make contact and see if you could receive in some fom, a refund. If you don't, it would be all your loss.

As for tips, Oustelets, are from the same region as panthers and have been found sharing trees, although higher up in the tree tops. Use the same care you would give a panther, and maybe even more generous sized enclosure.
