I have recently bought my black roughneck a new big cage. The only problem is that, since all my lizards are on shelves, the top of his cage is almost to the ceiling. So I was thinking that instead of putting his heat lamp on top of the cage, if I could just attach it to a long pole next to it and have the heat coming down diagonally. I'm not sure, but I think I heard once that one shouldn't do that if it's a Mercury bulb as it emits UV as well as heat. Is this true? And how would just a regular heat bulb fair?
