Ok im a new time uro owner and i own a mali uromastyx. I go upstairs to check on him and i see an orange liquid from the top of his tail....could this be pus or something bad? please reply!

ok Just now i checked it and it looks as if one its scales on its tail was torn out! She lives by her self in a 75gallon tank and has a basking spot of 120 and the rest of the tank is in the 90 range. Now how should i disinfect it?

well not sure how long you have had the lizard but if you have never taken it to the vet, now would be a good time and they can check to make sure your new friend does not have parasites too.

if scales are falling off it could be a bigger problem in the long run like tail rot or something. also if bacteria is eliminated as the cause then could there be something in the cage that is sharp or dangerous to the animal?

i am sure a vet isn't open tomorrow but if your animal is on a substrate, i would cover that or remove it so that it does not get on the wound. you can also dilute betadine to a tea color and dab it on the tail, but maybe others have better suggestions.
