Hi I just got a new MHD and was hoping you could tell me if its male or female

also does she look gravid?

Yes, you should resize the photos so they fit on the screen, but it does look like a female and possibly gravid. Thing is you can't go just by looks. I have seen these get much fatter than that and turn out to be just carrying such a heavy parasite load that they are that bloated.

I would have a fecal done to check for parasites and go from there. If she is gravid you will be seeing lumps in her sides pretty soon.
