i havent had a single mite in over 5 years on any of my snakes except a wild caught white lipped python that i had for a short time....and i dont understand how i can wake up and everything is normal...go to my girlfriends for the day...come home and go to check my yearling gtp ive had for a month and a half....and in the matter of hours it went from no mites to a huge mite problem...i dont get this at all...well now im treating a couple pieces of cage furniture and fake plants with provent-a-mite and letting them stay outside till i get home from work tonight and then im puttin them in the cage and hoping that atleast takes care of a majority of the mites....anyone have any thoughts at all?

My only guess is that something you put in the cage had mite eggs on it. Or you had a few. . a few made lots of eggs. I dont know if you soak GTP's or not but I soak my Balls in warm water with a LITTLE Ivory hand soap, the white bottle. Just enough so you can see it floatin around in the water but not enough to harm anything. I soak them for about an hour or so and that pretty much kills anything on them. I've done it everytime that I've had mites and its worked great. Bob Clark is the one I heard this from so I trusted it.

Hope this helps,
