I don’t usually feel the need to defend myself but in this case I can see why someone might think the way you do. So here goes. Im not sure how every one else gets their snake to cross breed but for me all that seems to work is to wait until snake cage cleaning day and put the male in the cage of a female that he would readily mate with and then put in a female that he would not breed with unless she smells like his normal mate, thus leaving the cage as messy as possible to trick him into thinking he is in with his normal mate. As for my cleaning practices I clean my snake cages on a daily bases with an overall major cleaning about every 10 days. So when taking a picture like this one the first thing that I think is, I hope people don’t think this is a normal cage look at my house. So before you judge me you should take a look at all of my pictures in the king snake photo gallery and on my website (www.westernhognose.com) and now I hope you understand why this messy cage look was posted. If I would have tried to clean it up while they were matting then they would have stopped and this may not have worked out so well. And if anyone that has been to my home and seen my snakes and how there are cared for would like to put in there opinion that would be great. Or you can feel free to come by at any time and see for your self! Ok I rest my case.
