compated ackie

sjatm941 Mar 26, 2006 07:20 PM

Curious how to tell if a monitor like a ackie is compacted . i got these fellows a week ago and noticed 2 of them look a bit bloated or just fat in the belly section , every so often one has a weird walk. It raises its body and walks weird , It actually threw up a couple crickets today. i beleive my temps are fine and im using dirt for substraight. All 4 f these guys eat like pigs and are pretty active. im conserned about the one especially after it barfed the crickets today. any ideas? could it be compacted? i beleive these are captive and are from pete weis originally. ive searched for symptoms or faq on compaction but have found nothing. any insight would be appreciated.

It is c/b, for what ackies go for, I doubt anyone would go through the trouble/possible jail time to import one from Oz.

If you think it's compacted, go see a vet. I've never had a compacted reptile, so I have no idea what causes it, but would assume dehydration and lack of good basking temps.

Good Luck,
