I modified my tank setup today in order to include a cool cave (a hollow piece of driftwood) and a moist hide, situated on the warm side of the tank.

How do I determine the temperature of my tank? I have a stick on thrermometer that is reading about 77 degrees, which seems really low. I have an under the tank hearter that was indicated for my ten gallon tank. I also have an esu reptile bi light, in which I have a 60 watt sunglo bulb and a 40watt nighttime bulb.

Where should I take my temp readings? Where do I get a thermostat and how would it work? Would I have to buy a new heater? I am really concerned about the temp for my gecko. He hasn't eaten since I got him last night (granted, I did change his setup around a bit today--just at the time he was probably getting used to it. Is is bad that he hasn't eaten and is refusing my hand-feeding?
