Leopards online

bigguykev36 Jul 28, 2003 10:16 PM

So where's the best place to buy Leopards online. I have East Bay Vivarium nearby, but they generally have [bleep] for selection in diferent types of Leopards. So where should I go online? Where have you bought from? Should I ship across country? or limit myself to breeders in CA and nevada?

What do you mean DON"T order from them? They have great quality animals!

iluvblackfrancis Jul 29, 2003 12:30 AM

no they do not!!! i live right there near them, i go in there all the time to see sickly animals. a lot have retained sheds, or are very under weight. i see them at shows, and im suprised they even bring those animals! are the people who buy them completly blind! i've only once seen a healthy animal at LLL, and it was a bearded dragon they had just got in from dragons den herp.

I thought it was great, at least at the Oceanside Store (thats the only one I've been too). They have almost all their animals in Vision cages, had all the required cage furnishings and then some, the cages were clean, and the animals looked healthy. I've bought 5 blizzards from them and their all doing great. As well as quality animals at great prices, they have the best prices on almost all of their supplies anywhere. I would recomend them any day.

You two might be going to two different ones(you to the Oceanside, and him to the Escondido). Do they ship from their retail stores or do they have a warehouse where they keep all of their animals?? If they do have a warehouse, then it is possible they have healthy animals, and the only reason that iluvblackfrancis says they arent healthy is because they particular store that he is going to, doesnt take care of their animals as well as the store that Bradley goes too. I"m done rambling now....

it's the oceanside one i go to as well. Im suprised that anyone can think that those animals are healthy. unless it's been a while since you've been there. about half a year ago, they were pretty good, but then, they just rapidly fell. i think that it became more about money then animals, and they just don't care. once i went in there, to look, and i saw a fat-tailed gecko that was soo skinny the skin on it's head had sunken into the holes in it skull. I've talked to people at shows about it, and they all agree its horrible. some people knew who it was before i told them! they always have monitors in there with retained sheds, and ball pythons who's skin is all dried out and looks like it is going to crumble off. i'm not making this up, i have no reason to. i tried to take pictures last week, but they wouldn't let me. i would sooner by from petco.

I was being sarcastic when I said you were making it up. I guess ya didnt catch that one. Well, there goes my theory that it was just the individual stores.....oh well.

I'll happily recommend Tina and Uriah of Geckoville. www.geckoville.com and Bill DiFabio.

Sybella Jul 29, 2003 12:14 AM

Bill DiFabio's site is www.Azteclizard.com

I have leos here from both Geckoville and Aztec Lizard and wouldn't hesitate to get more from them for any reason. They're wonderful people.

I've received geckos from Albey Scholl, K & N Reptiles, Ross @ Leos Anonymous, Monte @ PowerGeckos, and a couple others here and there. I wouldn't hesitate to order from any of those again.

If you're concerned about shipping, have you checked out Golden Gate Geckos? While I've never purchased from her, Marcia really seems like a great person and you gotta see those geckos! In my opinion, it's always better to purchase directly from a breeder(as opposed to large pet stores, including large online pet stores); the animals will have been better taken care of and you'll probably get better info and support. If they're a trusted source, you'll have less chance of disease, as well.

Good luck

how about from me? *lol* I have a small lot (4 normals 1 albino) of females for $140 shipped available...

bigguykev36 Jul 30, 2003 03:13 AM

Where are you located? Have you ever shipped geckos before? is that a price for the lot, or each (I'm assuming the lot). How old are they? And do you have pictures? Thanks!
Kev

blckkat Jul 30, 2003 09:40 AM

I'm in PA, the price is for the lot of them shipped, I have shipped reptiles before (I'm shipping out a pair of normal leos today actually), and I sent you a pm/email (whatever this forum sends whenever you click a username) about everything! The leos are all 1-2 months old, feeding/shedding fine and TS female.

Thanks for the e-mail. I will consider your offer. Thanks a lot, and I will DEFINATELY be in touch! thanks!
