"Het Hybino" refers to the fact that it is het albino. I've always understood that "Hey Hybino" means that one of the parents of the offspring were a Hybino. I hope this helps.

As I understand it, a hybino is a hypo that is also an albino. A het hybino is a normal looking creature that is het hypo and het albino. A hypo het hybino is a hypo that is also het albino. An albino het hybino is an albino that is also het hypo.

In my opinion, while "het hypo, het albino" is longer than "het hybino", "het hypo, het albino" is easier to understand.

a long thread that occured some time within the last month that has discussed this in detail.

Hypomelanism is a linebred trait. A normal animal is not "Het Hybino". All of the animals that I have ever purchased or seen that are "het Hybino" are at least SHTCT's, if not SHTCTB's.

This is because a Hybino is an animal that expresses the Recessive gene Albinism and the linebred trait Hypomelanism. You cannot have a Hybino het that is not Hypomelanistic.

so is there a such thing as a het hybino?this is a hypo tang het hybino....im going to breed it with my female hypo tang..do you think will get hybinos?

ByRandom Mar 27, 2006 06:12 PM

You wouldn't get any Hybinos unless both of them were "het hybino". You would produce Hypos/Tangs that are possible het Hybinos.

Like this season, I'm breeding my Bell Hybino male with 3 het Hybino females, which should produce roughly half hybinos.
