Got back from the vet today with Fat Sam (the rescued uromastyx I was talking about below in the 'warning: inspect your uros regularly' post. The vet was impressed with how clean and nice the wound is. He says it was most likely a scab that came off, so there isn't any tissue loss, and it's looking fine.
He did find a little bit of mouth rot forming on the inside of her upper lip, so I have to treat her for that as well. Luckily he said it's just in the beginning stages and will be easy to take care of. There is not tissue damage or anything and she's eating fine. So I am following his treatment regiment for that too.
All in all, I'm happy with it. She is going to be just fine, and that makes me very happy. It gave me quite a scare when it all happened on thursday night.
I love that Fat uromastyx. It's such a shame she's had such a hard life. The past two years with me have seemed to be pretty good though. She still won't lose any weight for some reason. She clocked in at around .5 kg today. She gets around just fine, and I haven't seen any indication that it might be a problem to worry about. She's fat and happy. She is a very well-behaved uro being a rescue.
