substrate

A friend of mine has a burmese and changed the substrate in his cage to ZooMed Premium Reptibark today. She says the new stuff smell really strong (almost like cedar) and the burm is moving all over his cage as though it bothers him. Have any of you used this? Is it normal for it to smell like that? What is the best substrate for a burmese?

The ZooMed bark you mention I don't know much about but ZooMed is pretty good company for reptile supplies I believe.

From what I remember with Zoo-med Reptibark (it's been several years since I have used it) it was rather dry. It might make it hard to keep appropriate humidity levels up. Try Aspen bedding.
