I Don't Suppose....

any of this light wind moving east to west made it into alternaland? Supposed to rain lightly the next 2 days. Wishful thinking I guess. I drove from Corpus toMcmullen/ LaSalle county line (Near Cotulla) and it was drizzlin' all the way. Turned up 2 neonate coachwhips, 1 Schott's whipsnake, tm2c med gecks, afew anoles, 1 broadhead skink, and saw 1 dor adult bullsnake on 624. Oh yeah, and saw a few spadefoots responding to the drizzle. First I've seen of them all year, so the thorn thicket is waking up! Soon the annulatas will be out for a stroll!

i have yet to find a live annulata, hopefully this season will be the one. I plan on hunting south of Sarita and hopefully out near Hebronville. I plan on waiting a little later in the season, with the price of gas at what it is, I fell I need to maximize my chances by going on nights that are "prime."

I caught one in eah of three locations in the last three years and a pair back in the early nineties. F.M.624 has been good for me, but many people catch them in the dunes and backside of the island.
I had never got one before that pair and really didn't start looking till 03. Hard to find but warm drizzly nights in mid April will bag you a male on the roam. My friend flipped one under a log in Jan. last year at a barbecue! Good thing it was under the log and not in it!

Very light mist the morning. Suppose to have more today, but we will see.
