ok the vet in virginia called me tonight and said that the situation was complicated because he could not find blood parameter ranges for collared lizards, so the results he gave me were based off comparing them to an iguana's blood parameters (forgive my medical ignorance if i say anything wrong) he said he is still looking but i wondered if any of you knew if there was a study on collared lizard blood levels.
based off comparing it to an iguana, he said he blood was fine, calcium levels were good, phos levels were good. he did say i think the word was similar to urophill count was high which meant inflammation was occuring, but i think the blisters make that obvious.
apparently lucia is a dissertation case and i have completely perplexed this poor vet and he is sending me to dr stall, who is supposedly the best reptile expert in the central eastern coast area. has anyone ever heard of this vet? he didn't mention anything about bacteria but i forgot to ask, but i figured if something was hugely there he would have mentioned it.
i am very worried because there are two small red dots on lucia's eyelid and i would hate for her to go blind. she still eats and runs around like normal so i am really at a loss too. hopefully this new vet will be of some help. i have to call them in the morning, maybe i can get him to see her tomorrow
