average fast time?

J.R. May 19, 2003 12:39 PM

What is the average length of fasts for bps? My little guy went off feed for the first time this winter (beginning of December) and still hasn't accepted food. He looks fairly healthy, but I am starting to get antsy! I know, I know... patience =

Thanks,
J.R.

Well, my big female fasted from February - today, when I finally offered her two live mice (the biggest food I'll offer live - she should be eating med. rats). Personally, I don't worry until they start to look thin. Then, it's to the Dr. I go!

I think there are as many answers as there are BPs. But my adult two....the male fasted from the first week in January through three days ago.
My female fasted from mid August through. She did take 2 gerbils mid April but hasn't eaten since. She is going into shed right now and hoping that starts something.
Personally I keep tabs on their weights. Neither has lost anything. If they did start losing I would worry.
