Can Someone help!!! i was new to leapord geckos and the pet store never suggested calcium/vit d3 but herptivite instead.Ibeleive i have a calcium def. leapord gecko.i noticed he wasnt eating his crickets and started loseing weight.the only thing i could get him to eat is wax worms(wich he still eats daaily...about 2-5 inriched with calc./vit d3).He still is surviving but not as healthy as i'de like...the tail is still fairly plump but the legs are kinda gimping up(as well as toes) but still dosnt have too much trouble moving around. Is this an easy fix?

I have not yet heard of a Leopard Gecko with MBD but I imagine it can and dose happen. To my knowledge MBD “Metabolic Bone Disease” do to calcium deficiency is not curable. It is possible for an individual to live out its life if it is caught early and taken care of however what ever damage the gecko has incurred from it will be there to stay. In other words you cant fix it but you can stop it.

On another note I feed my Geckos supper meal worms. Every now and then I will give them a pinkie. I have a small sea shell in each enclosure than hold the calcium supplement and I simply drop the worms in this shell one by one and the geckos eat them out of the shell. Do you have something in the cage 24-7 that holds there supplements? If not you should. You can simply take the cap of your powder and put some powder in it and leave the cap with the powder in the enclosure. It is said that a Leopard Gecko may lap up the powder if it needs it. Good luck hope this helps a bit.

well i have never had this problem with the toes and leggs but i have had many leos who wouldnt eat anything or just wax worms. i have been working with sertain individuals now for a few months and they are finally coming around and starting to eat on their own. i have tried a few different appetite stimulators and i have found that "jump start" works the best. you can get it at www.reptilesupply.com. i however dont fallow the directions because it seems to be for larger reptiles. i squeeze about 1 1/2 inches out of the tube and then mix it with about a water bottle cap size full of water. (haha if that made sense) i then feed it to them by letting them lick a full eye dropper of it by putting it in front of their nose tip. however some of my guys hate it and i have to wait tell they get made enough to open their mouth and sneek it in. most of them however are really easy. i feed it every other night until they start to eat crickets on their own or until they will eat them out of my hand. anyhow it works and i know of many other people who use it.
