Cage Decor Question

AJCrader Mar 28, 2006 08:28 AM

I have a BP only had him for about 3 wks, I read in another forum that adding fake plants may make him feel more comfy and possibly be more willing to eat for me, is this something I should try or should I just wait for him to get hungry enough to just eat for me? I know 3 weeks is nothing to worry about, but I am just worried cause I lost a snake that wouldn't eat, I tried live, f/t and scenting but nothing worked, so you can see why I am worried, I am just trying to figure out a way to help him feel comfy and eat...

The main thing I see missing is a hide box. I would add a hide before I put fake plants in the cage. If this helps him start eating, then put a couple plants in if you want. A hide is more important and plants are harder to clean. Hope this helps. Jon

I do have a hide, its just not in the picture...he just sits in it all the time and will push the substrate up to the opening and not come out but to get some water...I was just thinking that putting plants and covering the sides of the cage would make him feel more comfortable

I've seen my girl using her fake plants as a hide. I wouldn't substitute plants for a hide, but I think they work well together.

It's not how many snakes you have. It's how happy and healthy you can keep them.
