You're little girl is a cutie!
I have 2 Gecko's. Angus is a Henk. Uro He's a LTWC about 4 or 5 years old. And Mr Gecko is a Giant Day Gecko. He's about 5 or 6 years, I adopted him from a shelter about a year ago! They are both soo cool! I was thinking about hooking them up with some girlfriends.....

congrats on your gecko hatch! Forgive me if I've missed an ealier thread, but what kind is it?

I've got 3 leopard gecko eggs in the incubator right now. They should be a lot of fun if/when they hatch!

Feenie tell me about your day gecko . Is he interesting to watch or does he just sit around all day ? I am interested in getting a pair at the reptile show this year and want some input from an owner .

Thanks !

Joe

I was planning for a nice quiet evening at home last night, but all hell broke loose about 7pm and I didn't end up getting home until like 10:30 It figures!! Are you going to Chat tonight?? I'll email tonight for sure and send you some more pics of Mr. Gecko!! I'll be a little late for chat, I'm helping teach a CPR class to 10 year olds at 5pm and sometimes with kids, we can't always plan what will happen PLUS I have traffic to deal with too, But I'll be there.. and you will too Right???

We've been keeping and breeding day geckos for nearly as long as
we've kept chameleons. First madagasgar days (not grandis, we had
mad-mads), then standingi. We still have the standing's, and they're
awesome. They are about the easiest things to keep, aside from
leopard geckos. They like it a bit hotter and drier than the grandis.
They just need it really hot, and lots of calcium.

I did an independant study on them for my BS degree. Awesome social
behavior and highly intelligent animals - I kid you not. They are
problem-solving smart. One escaped from a tank at my brother's
house, climbed into the air vent, out a hole in the ductwork, into the
attic, and out through a vent on to the roof. At night, it would come
back in the room. Did this for quite a while before he caught it. Very
smart and beautiful critters.

We have a female that we purchased as an adult 12 or 13 years ago
from Gulf Coast Reptiles. She's still our #1 breeder. I estimate she's
well over 20 years old by now. I know of one that was imported in the
80's as an adult, and is still going strong.

Sounds like my kind of animal ( long lived ) ! Do you happen to sell any babies ? How much should I expect to pay ? I have seen some called peacock day geckos , are these the same thing ?

Thanks for all the info guys !
