Cricket food...

chillpop Mar 28, 2006 04:39 PM

Hello

I get usually 250 3/4 crickets and I feed them some oranges,apples,and always carrotts and I dust them with special Herp dust. My question is, I used to put Carrots,apples,lettuce,oranges and other things all in a blender and just served a kind of mush to them and that seemed to work but then someoen told me its best to serve the food whole.

It would be a lot better for me to use the mush instead is it Alright to do that instead?

Thanks =]

As long as your blending WHOLE food, I don't see the difference in serving it this way over serving unblended, whole food.

Stick with your mush. It's actually a really good idea. You can freeze it for later.

I don't think it makes a big difference except that once the fruits are broken down bacteria will cause it to rot faster. It keeps a lot longer if it is whole.

Also, you shouldn't feed oranges, or any citrus, to crickets. It's ok to feed it to roaches but not to crickets.
