sharing traits

bigguykev36 Jul 29, 2003 12:06 AM

Ok, I understand fully the operations of a punnent square for finding out genetic traits and the chances of getting certain types of traits out of certain lizards by breeding them together.... but my question is, do SPECIFIC traits get passed on from parent to baby? For instance, will the babies RESEMBLE the mother or father at all? Will markings or patterns be similar? What should I look for when buying my Pair to breed?

Thanks!!!
Kev

Awesome geckos. The stronger color dominates the babies color.

Actually it is believed that only about 25% of the dark pigment is passed down from the parents the rest has to do with incubation temperatures but it is safer to incubate in lower temperatures.
