The idiot took it to a reptile shop in another town and sold him for 50.00 but the owner of the store was a long time friend.
Fish and Game will handle him now, busted!

...very odd you didnt know him...but youve not given any detail about the crime (residential breakin/vehicle theft/petstore theft...etc...so not much can be interpreted...but if i were in your huaraches...id want my local PD or SO to investigate this as youre dealing w/ a felony theft...not a wildlife crime...I suggest this was not a random opportunistic theft..thus someone you know put him on to it...your riddle to solve is why???
