I have seen females begin oviposition in as little as seven days post pre-oviposition ecdysis and go as long as 20 days..

Good luck,

I've had as short as a week and as long as 28 days.
The 28 days period was a successful clutch.

The average for mine is between 2-3 weeks

Upon further review of my notes, I could find no instances indicating fertility differences regarding eggs acquired after only six - ten days post ecdysis and those acquired after 20 - 26 days post ecdysis.
I’m curious; since you only indicated the clutch which was presented after 28 days post ecdysis, does this indicate the clutch you incurred, after only seven days post ecdysis, was infertile?
Another interesting piece of data, I discovered while reviewing my notes, indicates the females I have tend to begin oviposition after the same amount of time passes between ecdysis year after year. On reason I believe Drys harbor a finely tuned circadian clock

Best regards,

Jeff

No, the "7 day" clutch was a large female and it was a fertile clutch.

Have not noticed a difference in fertility percentage in shorter vs longer term clutches either.

If there is any common denominator, my older larger females have been more likely to lay closer to shed than younger animals, but even so, 2 weeks is probably average.

It sounds as though your data is in line with mine.

At what point is being egg bound a concern? I now have a female who is 26 days after shed. It is her first clutch. She was hatched in 2002. She moves in and out of two nest boxes that are in the cage, both with moist sphagnum. I am glad to see that Dean had one after 28 days, but I am getting worried about her.
