My newest cage is finished and almost ready for snakes... pics coming soon.

Now for the final step. Could someone explain how to wire a dimmer switch? Its a leviton slide dimmer.

The dimmer goes in series with the heat source, typically on the hot or black lead.

Assuming your connector has at least the wide spade and narrow spade so it can't be plugged in backwards (or a three prong plug) One side of the dimmer would connect to the narrow spade. The flex watt or other heat source would connect one wire to the other dimmer wire and the second wire to the wide spade.

If your plug has two same size spades, same connections just does not matter which one is connected to dimmer.
