cage size?

skeletor121 Mar 29, 2006 01:28 PM

I have a 1 year old ball python who is starting to out grow his cage. I have found a used melamine cage that is 4'L x 2'H x 2'D for pretty cheap. Do you think this size cage will be a good size for him? How long do you think he would be able to stay in there before he out grows it? How good are melamine cages? I have a wood one right now and looking for a good substitute. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

4x2 is more than enough room for an adult ball python. How big do you think they will get? I keep my adults in 3' Neo's. Melamine cages are great provided they are sealed right.

I was guessing he'd get around 4-5 ft long and would fit comfortably in that size cage, but wanted to make sure. This is my first snake and wanted to make sure I had adequate living space for him.
