Here's are new "Baby"

lizardmania Mar 29, 2006 07:33 PM

It's been a long time since I've been on here and hope everyone is doing very well!

She is just a super rhino! 3.5 yrs. old and friendly as can be!
Jacob has already seen a few of these pics. She has brilliant blue hi-lights on her head, shoulders, and spine. Her abdominal region has gorgeous oranges as well, very like a cuban (c.nubia)

Here a pic of how friendly Baby is. It's a poor pic taken with a camera phone (unfortunately!!!) Storm is our greyhound (just another member of our zoo).

I love your new addition, Baby. She seems to be smiling right at the camera How long is she now at 3.5 years?
We are very excited about the prospect of getting our very first cyclura. Now, the only thing is which one? With all the reading we have done, we come to conclude that its not so much what variety of cyclura, but how it is raised and how often it is handled. My husband wants a rhino, and I seem to be leaning towards the lewisi. Each has its own special characteristics that we both love. As we cannot really get any hatchlings till late fall, because of the breeding season, we have some time to decide. In the interim we are accumulating "stuff" so that our new baby has everything it needs and then some by the time it is born. Indeed, this is not an inexpensive hobby.....but a very rewarding one!
Anyone have any advice as to where to go, (or not to go) breeder wise? If you feel at all uncomfortable responding on here, just email me privately, at Imindawoods1@adelphia.net.
It is great to be able to come to a forum like this, with many of its members having very extensive experience, (some like us with minimal experience with cyclura). and to bring questions, concerns and photos to share with others. This list is an invaluable resource that I am very happy to have found.
Best to all for the last bit of the weekend. and a great week ahead.
