Hi are Phrynosoma orbiculare legal in the pet trade? i recently stumble upon a source that sells them. I am wondering wheter it is okay to but and sell them.

These are not legal in the pet trade in the United States. Special permits from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service are required because they would be imported from Mexico. They are not even legal in Mexico to collect for commercial trade. Lester G. Milroy III

Lester is right. I legally imported phrynosoma orbiculare from Germany(Check out this German website for photos and more http://people.freenet.de/phrynosoma/main.htm ). It requires a 3-177 form for F&W and a big hassle from U.S. customs as well as alot of money. Hopefully I will have young from them this year. Who was offering them?Jeff

I stumbed upon this website which sells many other herps as well. They advertised DHLs and well as P. Orbiculars. I can't quiet remember what the company was. I should have bookmarked it. I will get back to you on that.

Thats pretty strange tough, that they sell P. orbiculars. Manay they misidentified it.
