Looking for some info

chriskimble Mar 30, 2006 06:20 AM

After reading the last week in review and seeing all those pictures, I would like to learn a little more about cornsnakes. I've done some searches and looked at a few corn sites, but Im looking for the "best sites" and dont have a lot of time to surf around. So can someone point me in a direction where I can find some detailed info on advanced husbandry and breeding, and some good pics of the various color and pattern morphs, and possibly a little history on corns. I'd like to know about any good literature that might be out there as well. Thanks a lot, you corn folks have some beautiful snakes.

Two site I would like to suggest is Kathy loves site http://www.cornutopia.com/ she also has a great book that no corn owner should be without. Also Don Soderberg http://www.cornutopia.com/ His site has a great list of prices and pics. We actually bought a couple snake from Don in January. If you decide to get a corn you wont be sorry. They are wonderful pets.

It's not likely that you will find a website with "advanced husbandry and breeding." Most websites will have a general care sheet. Any pet owner should get a book that goes into detail of dealing with diseases, shedding problems, natural history, housing, breeding, etc. Most care sheets and websites do not do this.

The Corn Snake Manual by Kathy Love is the best book on the market. You can buy it through the Cornutopia website.

Thanks everyone, I will check those out. I've always had an interest in corns, but I've had to resist my urges, because Im set up for boas and pythons. Im going to have some more space this fall, and I was thinking about setting up a room for some corns. And I always like to do a little research! Thanks again.
