Brooksi breeding?

mking Mar 30, 2006 08:47 AM

I have a pair of hypo brooksi that I thought would not be breeding size this season, However the female hit a growth spirt and I put her with the male. They were not burmated but Ive had success with cal kings and hondurans under the same circumstances. I know It stays quite warm in florida, so im not to worried. Just wont some reasurance from some other breeders.

thanks mike

Well, last season I put my male brooksi and female eastern together and they bred and produced eggs. They didn't get much of a brumation either, I just unplugged their heat and kept them at room temp (70 for a month) and didn't feed them much. The light cycle is definently down here in Minnesota over the winter too...

I think you'll be fine. The male immediately went after my female. Just wait till she sheds and I think it'll work out. Keep us posted and I'd love to see some pics of them!

If they breed then they are breeding size.

I have bred brooksi at a much smaller size than what some consider the norm.

the female is well over 3ft, shes fat. the male is is about 34in, and as aggressive a breeder as any of 4ft plus males.
Thanks mike
