They loosed some with tracking devices to gather data and then
recaptured them.

Interesting story, I'm very curious as to what they
will do with all the burms/rocks/retics that get turned in on
the 'amnesty' days after they implement the liscence.
(If they go through with it and implement a new liscense or
expand the list of reptiles)...
