Purple Transluscent

pdragon1 Mar 30, 2006 12:14 PM

Hi, I wanted to get this close-up shot of the pigment on this trans face. After about six months, she started to show some of this orange pigment around her lips. She is doing really well, has good weight, and eats like a pig. I thought at first that she was getting burned by the uv or a fungus, but found that there is no damage to the skin/scales, and it has never really progressed. She shed one day, and there it was. I will keep updating the photos as she grows. Thanks, Josh

Strange. The purple orange spotted dragon Looks like a few places are going back to how it would have looked if it wasn't so mutated by the translucent scales.. Like how on their belly some places can be normal looking with more white, and some completely translucent.

I need to get more pics of her after she sheds. That's why I only photographed her head. She has yellow pigment too, along with the orange. When she is stressed, her hue changes to a different shade of purple. Thanks for the input, Josh

Absolutely gorgeous as usual Josh. Hands down Translucents are my favorite morph. How many trans do you have? I am also curious what color breed the parents were of this purple, Were they hets?

Thank you! I don't have a whole lot of trans. Most of my breeding stock are hets. The purple one hatched out of the older stock of hets. The parents weren't any different in appearance than the other, older hets. I honestly think that these blue/purple ones are just a strange oddity that pops out every now and then. Josh
