getting a female

xblackheart Mar 30, 2006 02:26 PM

I bought a bearded dragon as a baby at a reptile show. The guy said he was pretty sure it was a female. It turned out to be a beautiful male. I then bought two more babies from a guy who said he incubated for females. I believe those two are also male due to the enlarged femoral pores. Is there any way to help me find a female baby? Or should I just buy an older (yr old) female to be safe? I am going to a reptile show next weekend and would like any tips. I am not looking for any of the special morphs. I am happy with the browns, tans. Although three of my normals, have turned out to have amazing colors that just get brighter with each shed.

I suggest you learn how to sex them. Then before you buy at the show you can sex them yourself to make sure.

The site recommended is awesome for learning how to sex a dragon. A dragon that is 7 inches is fairly easy to sex in that manner. Good luck!!
