new morph ?

jnjreptiles Mar 30, 2006 08:06 PM

We got this guy a few months ago from its original owner who couldn't take care of him anymore. He is 2700 grams on completely empty and looks 100 times better in person. We have had some very good responce from some of the big names and wanted a few other peoples thoughts on him. We is on breeding loan now so we will prove him out one way or another this year.
Thanks j&j reptiles

Sorry for the crappy pics, they were with our old camera.

snakebstr Mar 30, 2006 09:48 PM

I have a female that looks really close to yours. Mine is around 700 grams. To me it looks almost exact except you have the mojave eyes where mine has NO eyes. Hope you enjoy my photo's.

Dave, that is a [bleep]in snake man. I really like it. The very first pic, there is a "pattern" that looks like the silhouette of a man in a sportscoat, or suit coat. If it proves out, call it the Silouette Ball

Dave

RandyRemington Mar 30, 2006 10:31 PM

Here's a big girl with the same wide dark pattern but without the stripe. Your's look so much alike with the strong stripping that they are probably something different but I like the wide pattern elements in all of these. Now if mine would finally pop out the 20 eggs she should have built up by now.

Snakebstr Mar 31, 2006 12:30 AM

Dave,
Maybe I will call it a Striped Silhouette Ball. I see what you mean if you look at the pictures I see more than one silhouette in the pattern. Men talking to woman, men by himself, ETC. Thanks david

topnotchsnakes Mar 31, 2006 12:59 AM

You dont get to name it till you prove it im the only one that has offspring from it so ill be the one to name it thanks. Dont even try you dont know im one of the only that will prove it befor i name it so im the one that gets to name it thanks.

If you are really going to do it totally by the book (and no one does) you should wait and see what the homozygous version is like before you name it.

snakebstr Mar 31, 2006 06:41 AM

If I want to NAME IT, I can do whatever I want Right? If I want to call it a Silhouette Ball then I can, Besides I didn't name it Dave did...LOL. If the name sticks then so be it, I am not gonna cry about it you cannot name it an OWN the rights to name it, That's BS. If you already have babies from a certain snake and it reproduces itself then you should have already givin it a name right? right! But here is the deal You SNOOZE you LOOSE! Besides who really cares who names it? I don't!! Take it easy and NAME YOUR BALLS BEFORE they are PROVEN!! See YOU All later, David

Introducing The NEW Striped Silhouette Ball!! Though it is Unproven it is still kool....LOL

topnotchsnakes Mar 31, 2006 11:44 AM

All im saying prove it then name it and let the race begin. I have a female so you might get there first so good luck but like i said and the others dont stick a name to some thing you cant prove. And if you call me Danny boy again ill find you at the next show and cut your fingers off so youll never type again.J/K lol

jnjreptiles Mar 31, 2006 03:29 PM

Yoy said yours was proven with a pastel and it made high contrast babies. The big diference with this guy from what every one else is posting pics of is he has a lot of mojave markers, eyes heavy blush, the green tinge to him etc.. If he proves out as a mojave type, he will be a new line as he is 12 years plus. Time will tell and you will see the results when he proves.Either way its a nice snake for a dinking project

Snakebstr Mar 31, 2006 04:47 PM

Danny boy....just let me know what show you want me to attend...LOL. Now lets get back to the real business, I am not sure what you have as far as striped ball pythons(Silhouette Balls) but Amir looked at mine in Daytona 2005 and said it was a Striped Harlequin so mine already has a name. Good luck with your though, and I really don't care about putting a name on a ball python, Just think about for real....we have several names for the HET Ivorys...we have Goblins, Het Ivorys, and yellow bellies. does anyone really care WHO names the Morph, I don't. I was just messing with you after your responce to the name that Dave told me I should name it, But mine is a Striped Hariquin. See you sometime, I guess at the next show so you can repay me for calling you Danny Boy...LOL. Take it easy, David

jnjreptiles Mar 31, 2006 07:53 AM

We are not naming any thing until it its proven.Chances are he is diferent from a lot of the others because of the fact that he has the mojave eyes all over him, and the fact that he was w.c. 12 years ago. If he proves we will name him whatever we and our project partner decide.Worst case conario we will name him the "j&j reptiles" line of whatever the hell he is.

snakefreek Mar 31, 2006 08:04 AM

I belive there are many people that have offspring of this strange pattern me being one of them, In fact I can send you pic's of some that are almost two years old. I have posted a few messages on the forum with pic's in the last few days of the adult male that I have. I also have a female that I picked up from Eric White { reptile exotics } That should be big enough to breed this coming year so we will see if there is a super morph. As far as names go, we should find out who has the first documented genetic pattern in the offspring and let them name it. I was calling mine a laceback but I wasn't going to post that until I could prove out a super. But to me it really doesn't matter as long as we are injoying what we are doing. Right? Thanks Erick

kybacon Mar 31, 2006 12:51 PM

WOW.

If he wants to call it a striped sillouette sticky walled-side mojave black pastel diamond patterned ball python, he can. Anybody can name anything they want, market will determine if it sticks. There is no rules on naming "morphs", it is just a craze that is happening. Everyone wants to own a new "morph". Market will determine if these new "morphs" hold their ground or not.

I say name it, who cares.

We are hoping that the mojave eyes will play a role in proving him out. He looks a lot different in person, more mojave like, and is breeding hevily now.

topnotchsnakes Mar 30, 2006 11:04 PM

Yeah I have one that must be the same morph. I breed it with a pastel het ghost and got one normal, and one pastel another pastel died right after hatching. The babies are both out standing looking and some of the most hi def balls youll ever see. Im having some problems with my camera/computer down loading right now but I will post pics asap. I would say from the way the pattern and bellies on the babies are that it is genetic.

Thanks Dan@TopNotchReptiles

I have several stripes I imported. Here's one that reminds me of what you guys are posting.

jnjreptiles Apr 01, 2006 08:38 AM

He is not a harlequin. He is a lot diferent looing than the pics show. He has a lot more blushing and a lot more eyes, with the high white sides that are diferent than a harlequin. We will see what happens when he proves.

Snakebstr Apr 01, 2006 07:49 PM

Post a belly shot and that might clear up if he is a Harlequin or a Mojave type. In my honest opinion he looks more like a striped Harlequin Type then a Mojave Type, But I am not 100% sure that the Harlequins are NOT some type of mojave. has anyone bred a Harlequin to a mojave. Maybe Amir did it. He is the one that told me Mojave's and Harlequins work well together. but anyway Post a belly shot of Him. Thanks David

Snakebstr Apr 01, 2006 08:37 PM

Here are a few other 2005 babies I am working with. Thanks David

jnjreptiles Apr 02, 2006 08:40 AM

I thought I had a belly shot but it must have gotten lossed when we got our new nikon camera and transfered everything over. His belly is clear. I didnt think it was completily clear because it had a little black coming in on it, but a friend of ours , the guy who is breeding him, said it was clear but because of his age didnt look like the clear belly we were used to seeing. He is friends with brian at b.h.b and had him show him all his big adult breeder female co-doms and all of them had the same type of belly he did.He said at that size they look completely diferent. If I can find a pic of it we will be more than happy to post it.Thanks for the help
