If this works, will it just look like a long tri-color hognose or like a sinaloan milk with a pointy nose? Hmmmmm...

Sorry if I got you all bent out on this picture! But it was just a picture to see what kind of respond it would get. They were not breeding and I was not trying to get them to breed. As for the western hognose to a tri-color I will try that one only to see if it can be done and I would love to see the results. Still I think you all were a bit harsh with me on this one and should give me a little more credit for all I have produced,
(Mostly tri-color hogs) and more then most of you if not all of you, (dare to challenge my numbers)? Over 100 tri-hogs produced by me just last year alone! So if any one knows the value of these great little snakes I think it would be me. They are my personal favorite. So as I said, it was just a picture! Once again sorry if it was taken as anything more.

jim, you said you posted the pic to get a reaction, and that's what you got. now that its not the reaction you wanted, you're getting defensive. people are only stating their opinion, to something you've posted as being real. you never stated in your original post that it was a joke, so people are expressing how they feel. you posted looking for a reaction, now you've got one.
I know its hard to fight the temptation of cross breeding and there are many beautiful snakes made by it. But its messing up the blood lines, in the end were not going to know what we have. Keep it pure or natural intergrade man.
HA,HA,HAAA.... JIM, you are one beautifull crazy....GOOD LUCK,AGAIN..
With all due respect and your right to do what you wish with your animals, I hope you'll reconsider that breeding. When you posted the cross with the western I had second thoughts but refrained from commenting because as stated, they are your snakes. Now a sinaloan and tri-color hog? Hope you reconsider that breeding. If not for purity of strain, then think about this. The tri-color market has huge potential. Not many breeders and they still command a pretty high price for most hobbyist. One of the few markets that is not saturated. The lines are still pure. How many customers would you lose if they knew that there is just the slightest chance that their projects could be ruined by your mutts? Other breeders need offspring to outcross. How many of these breeders are no longer interested in your stock. I would like to work with tri-colors and considering that I just sold you some snakes, I would have considered buying them from you. That is no longer the case. I'll shop elsewhere for my tri-colors when the time comes. I'm only one customer, no big deal, no real loss, but from the other replies you can see that others feel the same way.
Just my opinion
I can tell you I'll never buy anything from him. People like him should collect stamps and get out of this wonderful hobby.

couldnt say it better my self
why would I get a male Sinaloan from you if I was going to use my females to make mutts with my tri-hog?

You have to remember that when you post on a forum you take the risk of this happening. And not selling any thing you produce. That is why none of the top breeders participate on these forums, they get there head handed to them who's got time for that.
Keep up the good work.
Tom.

Hey Jim all I ment is I didnt agree Im not saying your not reputable. If I buy some tri hogs they will be from you. only my opinion
you were not serious about that breeding. It didn't make sense to me since you were getting a male breeder sinaloan from me. In fact, that it made it look more disastrous. If that tri-color hog had hooked up and then my/your male sinaloan hooked up with the same female, real potential to ruin someones project. Which is exactly why I am so against mutts.
I have very strong feelings about hybrids. No Mutts, no exceptions. I have had two projects ruined and both times it was by professional breeders. No excuse for their mistakes. Both had guarantees, good reputation, and nothing but excuses and they did not correct the problem. I first lost 2 years raising the stock and then another year and more money fixing the problem. By the time I got to market, there was no market. The stock was sold as pet grade, not for breeding. I lost the money but MOST important was the time and joy of success. You can't put a price tag on the time lost. Every breeder in these forums knows the joy and great feeling when you see those eggs and then the hatchlings. I never really got to have that great feeling with those two projects.
and produced 56 babies last year....i have found them to be just excellent snakes to work with....
