just curious to what is the most amount of garters youve seen in a small area. ive seen some spots about 100 square feet or so with about 15 or so. and the spot i usualy try and catch them at is about half an acre and ive seen about 30 or so easterns there. i dont know if thats alot compared to other spots, but it seems to be alot from my experience in massachusetts. and at these spots i dont know how many ive seen that are there. like maybe there are hundreds but i just havnt seen them. so what im asking i guess is about how many snakes would live in a healthy area where they can be seen almost all the times its visited? does a good area of a few acres have like 20 or like 1000 garters? are there a lot more snakes than we would probly think? or do you think if an areas searched and i find 30 snakes..then theres only about 30 snakes?
