Ball Python Lovers.I was just browsing the BALL PYTHON classifieds just to see what the hooplah was all about.Forgive me for saying this but.....I actually thought of buying a spider ball. SHUDDER...help me I feel cold and empty.I quickly came to my senses and hurryingly clicked back to the BOA classifieds.Once back I took a deep breath among the B.C.C.,Salmons,Corals ,Anery and Snows.Ahh safe at last.Suddenly HYPO/SURI'S don't look so bad.

I have a BP - and it's the 1st, last, and only one I'll ever have.

It's a beautiful animal, but the picky feeding, the spastic fear response of balling up, and the non-existent personality when comapred to a boa will make it my only BP ever.

On the other hand - I want more Boa daily!

Ditto on that! To each his own, I've heard it said. BP's have never melted my butter and I have tried really hard to understand the attraction

I realize my eye is untrained and unable to appreciate "subtle" differences in many of the morphs....because, to me, many of them look about the same.

I agree about the personality thing, too. They are too timid for me. My boas will come out, hang out, visit with people, crawl around outside on a warm afternoon, and go back in their house and have a rat for supper. No fuss, no muss. No mental damage done.

BOAS RULE!!!

Now i love my boa with all my heart.... he's my big baby.. but my ball python (its a rescue) is friendly and loves coming out to "play" and she never balls up! it just depends on the personality of the animal...my boa is almost my most impressive peice of my colection...once people get over the shock of seeing an orange corn snake and a white corn snake... but i will always have a boa!!

Ball pythons are about as exciting as a pet rock. I learned my lesson 25 years ago with my one & only Ball. I do have to admit that I do like the pied mutation. If only it were on a more interesting snake. Oh well.

As a side note, don't ever get into these little guys or you will start thinking the same way about boas. Yikes.

Are you breeding Black heads these days? I have to admit to you that I have been interested in Black Headed Pythons and Womas for awhile now!

This Woma is due in about a week, with another one due a week later. See above for a Blackhead pic from this afternoon. I also have one more due in about a week. Womas & Blackhead pythons are unbelievably cool. They are always out & about & are extremely curious creatures. 100 times the personality of a boa. Both species are just plain cool. The only drawback with the Blackheads is in getting the babies feeding. It generally takes several months but they all come around eventually. Once they start feeding they quickly become bottomless pits that would eat every day if allowed to do so. Woma babies are bulletproof. They'll eat anything you put in there. This includes waterbowls, snakehooks & fingers. They're not bitey, just hungry. Try the Aspidites out & you'll be hooked.
