Handling time

wayneb0415 Mar 31, 2006 09:11 AM

Hello everyone,
My brother recently acquired a beautiful adult female BRB. He and I were wondering how often and for how long you all hold your BRBs. I know he wants to go wild with the handling but he also doesn’t want to stress her out (She’s fully acclimated, eating regularly and shedding well). Thanks for and help and your time.
_Wayne.

The only rule I have regarding handling is to let them digest for a few days after each meal. If your snake is eating one rodent per week and the rodent is only slightly larger than the snake at the snake's widest point. And, the snake has access to temperatures between 75 and 82°, then letting her digest for 2 days before any handling should be long enough. If she eats larger meals or is kept at lower temps then you should probably give her a little longer. Imagine someone picking you up and carrying you around after a rather large meal. O.K., stop imagining that now.

Other than this, hold her as much as you want for as long as you want.
