Black Milk eating. Keith you'll like 'em

mattcbiker Mar 31, 2006 12:55 PM

Eating a FT mouse... I thought all of these were fun. I really like how his pattern and hints of color show up a bit still. I used SerpWidget and found him to be about 42.5".

Keith - do you know when this guy was hatched in '04? Typical Oct/Nov hatch? Thanks!

I think October of 2004. He looks awesome ! Makes me regret selling him. Whats up with the female Florida Zoo ? You mentioned she is a picky feeder ? Is she refusing meals ? I had her for 2 months almost and she ate large pinkies everytime. I just put them in the tank and left and she ate within an hour.

She ate a fuzzy for me 8 days ago, and refused a rat pinky a couple times since then. They're a bit bigger than the fuzzy but all that I have on hand, and the other young milks are all eating them. I think I just need to leave them in her cage for a while... she's the only one of the milks that doesn't come grab them right out of my fingers.

As a whole the FL female is doing well otherwise =]. I am just keeping them at room temp which seems to be reccomended. I thought about warming her up, but they're all digesting just fine within a few days.

That Andean is doing awesome.... here's some pics. He's a piglet!! I really like his dark contrasts.

Keeping them at room temp is fine but they do need a warm area. The article written by the guy who started the San Antonio line offers his animals 85 degree basking areas during the day. Also its worth noting some snakes dont like Rats or maybe more precisely they dont like the smell of them. Ive had my share of snakes that just wouldnt eat rat pinks or adults but pounded mice. I guess they can have picky tastes like people do.

Here are pics of my pair. The female (smaller one) is a sister to the pair you got from Clay Davenport and the male is from John Cherry.

matt perhaps putting the fuzzy in a small cup with the rat pink will change your BM's tastes.i have over 50 snakes and the BM's are by far my favorites,BTW have you heard any numbers on weight and length for females to breed? i'm hoping my 03's will go this year.my 1.2 03's came from john cherry.have fun!

No he is from a different pair. He was produced by Don Soderberg of South Mountain Reptiles.
