Lizards and possums....(DU Warning)

daniel1983 Mar 31, 2006 05:18 PM

I went herping today since March is coming to an end. I still have not seen any snakes but the weather has been great around here.....but I saw alot of lizards from this area...five lined skinks, eastern fence lizards, six-lined racerunners, brown anoles, green anoles...you name it I got some pretty good pictures too IMO. I wish some of the racerunners would have stayed still....those guys are the fastest reptile I have observed!!! Well here are the pics...

I saw two possums in the woods today.....traveling together....this one got about 15 ft from me before it realized I was there.

Here are two different green anoles...

Five-lined Skink...

Here is a eastern fence lizard...

Love the extended dewlap on the green anole and the vivid color on the "blue belly"! Where are you located? What kind of camera and lens do you use?

Thanks All.

I am in North Louisiana and use a Sony DSC-H1. No special lenses. This camera is awesome at taking pics around 7-10 ft away with its optical zoom. It is not really great for the 5-10 inch range though but I dont mind since most critters don't let you get that close anyway. I have been meaning to pickup a closeup lense for pictures of my collection.
