Ok I went out today and got a fresh baby bloodred. Its so tiny! They told me it feeds on pinkies already but its so small. All the pinkies I've seen seem so big for it. What should I do?

make sure you are looking at pinkies and not fuzzies. pinkies are in fact pink and small....usually a day to a couple days old. and snakes can eat up to 1 or 1 1/2 its "belly". i dont know if that makes since. ok say you put the pinky by the belly of the snake it should be about the same size. but if the pet store said it was eatting pinkies...i'd probably wait a few days (usually 3) without disrupting the lil guy. no picking up, poking, prodding, etc. just leave him be. let him get used to his surroundings and after 3 days defrost a pinky or throw a live one in a small container with the snake. kinda like the "deli selects" containers with holes in it. leave them be....possibly overnight until he eats. once again, the corn snake guide/manual explains this MUCH better than i do.
Try new born pinies. Something like a day old. Offer it, and if the snake has trouble, you could feed it just the heads, and then work your way up. You'd be surprised what little snakes can get down. I believe that even new born snakes can eat pinkies after two weeks or so.

Ok thanks I'll take that into consideration. Also do you know how long it takes for a bloodred to start getting rid of the gray on its head and other colors on its body?
Depends on the snake. Some never lose all the patterning.
But you should see a major color change with each shed. That's one of the things I love about the bloodreds. Every time they shed, it's like getting a new snake!
