Custom Acrylic Cages

Here's some pics of my new cage. Made locally here in Vegas by a plastic fabrication shop. Thanks to Tyler Stewart for hooking me up. Bottom is a drawer full of water. Dome light is temporary until my Helix panel/system come in. Young adult male Emmy inside for size reference (but it is his cage).

Very nice. I built one very similar to your design this last year and boy was it a PITA. I do love how easy it is to clean though and with the money I saved it was almost worth building myself.

I have some questions, the plastic company built this one for you? You simply supplied the design? What did it cost? I'm very interested to have someone else build my design as it is very time consuming unless you've got a shop and all the tools, which I don't.

A buddy of mine here in Vegas supplied the design (BLUEBEASTREPTILE@aol.com - Tyler Stewart). They ran $270. The only gripe I have is the perches they provided were only 1/4 in width. Next time I'm going to specify 3/4" width so as to provide a deeper perch holder. Humidity stays static at 60% which is incredible w/the arid air here!

That's about what Toni Nicoli sells the TNS line for. I built mine for just a little over $100, saving me almost $200, but then again, I worked for it. I dunno which is a better route, saving $200 could be another treeboa! I think I'm going to build mine's twin and then retire from cage building all together. I think I see a nice set of stackable PVC in my future.

Thanks for the reply.

I have all my Chondros in Herpcages.com cages. Lightweight and hold great humidity! I wanted to splurge w/the nicer cage as I have to house my Emeralds inside for most of the Summer as it gets too hot in my garage and wanted a display-type cage.

I was thinking of putting a pair of my cb Tiger Rats (Spilotes) in but the way they roam they'd probably knock themselves out on the clear sides LOL.

Well, if you're looking into Tiger Rats I'd have to recommend my friends Donnie and Michelle Smith of PrimaReptilia who breed beautiful CBB Tiger Rats. Their website is http://www.primareptilia.com/
