Boaphile Question...

Robert Apr 01, 2006 04:05 AM

I recently received 2 new boaphiles from Jeff...421d I believe...Anyway, only one of the cages heat tape seems to be working...I hooked them up to my thermostat, started checking temps after a few hours and one cage was still at room temp on the heat while the other was at the desired temp...So I raised the temp on the thermostat just to see if the room temp cage would rise and nothing...I then proceeded to plug the heat tape directly into the wall, no thermostat. Still, nothing...Just wondering if there were any tricks to get the heat tape working and if that is what those little silver things included with that cages are for?? I will contact Jeff unless one of you guys have an easy fix that I can do while waiting for a good time to contact him...

FYI: No snakes have made it inside these cages yet

One of the cages is the future home of the female below

Thanks alot,
Robert Remendowski

I'm not sure how you can get the flexwatt working, but I do know it can take a while to warm up. I don't know how long you waited, but try plugging it in and waiting overnight.

The little metal pegs are for stabilizing stacked cages.

Hope that helps!

It sounds like you don't have a good connection between the little metal clips and the heating element itself. I don't think there's much else that can go wrong. Especially since you've tried plugging it right into the wall.
