thanks in advance. here's a old pic of a mbk

BBretro Apr 01, 2006 09:25 AM

lol....i've never been on a snake hunt but here it's easy to fine local snakes esp. burmese python and recticulate...also as water monitors....there's this lake behind my place and every once in a while i'll see this gigantic water monitor...and baby pythons....red tail racer ,white lipped tree viper, javan wart snakes and some green snakes are every once in a while spotted also.....but i never catch them tho....all my snakes are CB........you guys in the USA are sooo lucky you know lol......i've fallen in love with kingsnakes esp. the MBK...and you dont wanna know how expensive they get around here....lol......but i guess it's the same for you guys and our local snakes...right?

That is so cool! i prefer c.b. also, how are the laws overthere? and what is your next fave. common kingsnake(L.getula) besides the MBK? here's a speckled king

BBretro Apr 01, 2006 10:00 AM

well....they dont really care...if they cant fine out(which usually happens) you'll be able to keep any animals...no license needed....apart from MBK...i'd have to say i really love the striped cal and the common cal.....my next one would probably be a striped cal king.... :')

JETZEN Apr 01, 2006 10:11 AM

What ya think of these cals that are in my collection

BBretro Apr 01, 2006 10:15 AM

mann....so envy...you've got yourself a pretty cool collection there..... would you be so kind and ship me one of those you're bored of?....lol....JK JK

JETZEN Apr 01, 2006 10:37 AM

I may consider trading some for some of those
Siamese two-seconds, just kidding, everyone knows there's no such snake.

BBretro Apr 01, 2006 10:10 AM

ohh.....and i'm also interested in the black milk...(Lampropeltis t. gaigeae) to be the second to join the BLACK collection i'm trying to make.... :') but i bet it's gonna be soooooo tough for me finding one around here....importing it's gonna cost me a lot....so i think i'd just have to wait and be very patient....

JETZEN Apr 01, 2006 10:29 AM

well then best not forget the P.m.lodingi, one of the finest N.American colubrids in the U.S.

If you don't mind, what do some of our snakes cost over there in US dollars? I don't think Tailand snakes are not that expensive over here. Derek

BBretro Apr 01, 2006 09:39 PM

it cost 70-80$USD for a 10inches standard cal king...but it differs from one snake to another...esp. what we considered to be rare snakes....my MBK cost 220$USD(14inches).......and that's a hell of a lot considering here you could get a std. cal for just 30% more than the price in the US and this baby cost me something like 3 times more.....but come to think of it the other way around...you could buy a CB juvenile burmese python for less than 5$USD here and the normal price over there goes around 50-80$USD that's 10 times the price....still it's not so expensive i know...just considering the price differences

thailand's std prices

-blood python should be no more than 50$USD for the baby but the wierd thing is that adult's less expensive
-Reticulated Python wouldnt cost more than 8$USD for a baby
-the Erpeton tentaculatum would be around 5$USD
-chrysopelea paradisii's around 8$USD
-ahaetulla nasuta's around 5$USD

PS. these are just the price i remember ;')

phiber_optikx Apr 03, 2006 12:51 AM

Wow! you could barely get a w.c. green snake for $15 here. I don't think there are any snakes for $10.
