Deppei Jani Question

latin1956 May 19, 2003 01:17 PM

I have a male 2 year old and lately his poop is smelling really bad. I fed him a rat fuzzy and he regurged, I waited 2 week and gave him a rat pinkie to see if he would hold it down. Well he did but his poop still smells really bad. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
Tom

I would check and make sure that he has proper cage temps to allow him to digest his food.
If the temps are good, I'd bring a fresh fecal sample to a qualified vet and have it checked for parasites.
Let us know how things turn out,
Chris

Taking a sample and your snake to the vet is a good idea, but if he is healthy I would try feeding him a prekilled mouse. Sometimes when they are fed food that's not very fresh they regurge or their poop smell like decaying matter. Try a smaller mouse that's on a good diet and prekill it.
