i am no uro breeding expert, so i could be completely wrong and would like to know myself, but i think she has a while before she can breed, she still looks pretty young. she looks about hugo's age, based on size (but maybe girls grow faster than boys?), and i am almost 100% sure he is a boy and he has never shown any signs of mating or sexual maturity, no head bobbing, no butt dragging. he pretty much uses helga as a mattress but i do have to say that i have never brumated them to encourage mating, so that could be part of the problem.

that being said, she is very cute, has a very sweet face. but as with all new reptile friends, i would recommend a trip to the vet to make sure everything is peachy

Very Cute!! Congratulations!

I second the opinion that she still looks like a juvie, and probably has a while. She certainly is adorable!

Yea i thought she was a juvenile too but i just emailed the ex-owner yesterday and she said that they had her for 5 years so im a little worried about it but she looks healthy maybe just a little stunted... quick question... how often should i feed her crickets?? they were only giving them like once a month or maybe once every 2 months

That amount shouldn't cause problems. You don't need to feed insects at all, but very small amounts are unlikely to be problematic.

I, too, have a mali uro who is very small and underweight for his age (Turtle). I adopted him from a girl who was going off to college. According to her, he was about 2-1/2 years of age and that was 2 years ago - yet he looks like a juvie/sub-adult. He's had a good diet and access to UVB for the time he's been with me (don't know about before that), but he's only gained a small amount of weight. I'm working with my vet right now to try and sort him out. Vet thinks it's parasites (taking a fecal sample in today), but I'm not sure. He's been checked clean a couple times since I've had him. If this one also comes up clean, we're doing some blood work to see if anything turns up.
