is it a good idea for someone who is out of the house 10 to 12 hours of the day to have a b/w tegu for a pet?
thanks

In my opinion, if you're going to be out of the house 10-12 hours a day the tegu might become more of a display animal than a pet. Depending on what time you you work during the day, you might not see him/her too much. Mine wakes up around 7 or 8 in the morning and will usually be in bed by 6pm. Another point to consider would be to make sure you're home during the day to feed...some people even reccomend feeding hatchlings smaller meals twice a day instead of one big one. Basically then it all boils down to your schedule, whether you're gone days or nights. If you can make it work though, they are great!
