Ok, figured I would break the ice and try to post some pics .. but how?? (

cheyenness Jul 29, 2003 09:20 AM

Hello everyone. I have been here on this board now for about 2 weeks, but only just started responding to posts yesterday. I think this place is great and 99% of the people posting here seem very caring and friendly. Yes we always get the odd one or two that try to ruin things for everyone. That happens on every board on almost every subject.

Anyway, I thought I would say hello and post a couple of pictures of my dragons I am NOT an expert photographer by any stretch of the imagination, but I love my Beardies and wanted everyone else to have a chance to see them.... Only problem is..... how the heck do you post pictures? (Other than the one in my signature at the bottom of my posts?) hahaha

When you write your message you have a link that says "Tools and Toys" right under the "message box". Click there and it will tell you how to post pictures. Your pictures has to be at a server (online) somewhere and that server has to allow you to link images from it. Not all photo-galleries allows that...

I would love to see pictures of your dragons! Hope you figure out how to post them soon!

I figured out how to do one picture at a time, but how do you post more than one in the same message?

Any help would be welcomed.

This one is my "pride & joy" I stumbled across him in a local newspaper over a year ago and he has proven himself time after time with producing some GREAT babies! HE was my "buy of the century". Believe it or not, I got him at 9 months old and only paid $40 for him!!!!!

Thanks I think they are pretty awesome myself

My dragons are set up very different from "most" breeders. See, I don't have a bunch of animals that are just "breeder animals", My dragons are also part of the family. I house my dragons in trios and they are together year round. I build my own tanks for them and they are about 5 foot x 2 1/2 foot in size. I don't force brumation on them either and never do an actual "deep brumation" period. I basically just adjust the temps and daylight hours as the seasons change. This isn't very technical, scientific or anything, it is just what seems to work for me and my dragons.
I have had females that seem like they will never allow a male to breed her (to the point of thinking I had two males together) and then one day she just seems to say "ok big boy, lets go" hahaha. In your case I would place them where they can see eachother and slowly bring the temps and daylight hours up to "summer". Increase the food amount, etc and you should start to see breeding behaviour. First time meetings are always good on neutral ground (If they have never met before) After they have adjusted to summer temps, etc place her in his tank and leave her there for a week or two. As long as they don't fight (injuries, etc) I would leave them together. Some females tend to think they are more male than female and do fight a little, but these fights are also part of the foreplay at times. I haven't gotten any injuries on my dragons from this kind of fighting.

Hope this at least helps some..... Like I said, I do things differently to most and find it hard to explain at times.
