Have a health concern

Pavel Apr 02, 2006 03:50 PM

Hello,

My gecko had a bit of trouble molting this last time -- despite having had a moist area to hide out in. So I gave her a soak in some tepid water and the little bits of dead skin on a couple of toes came off just fine. HOWEVER, the was a small strip of old skin along her mouth that did not come off. So I gave her a few days more -- keeping her moist hide box moist and even another soaking. Still the strip along her mouth remained

Today I decided enough was enough. Gave her anther soak & then moist Q-tip in hand, rubbed the strip off. [Peanut was NOT happy with me. She doesn't mind sitting on a hand but hates being held.] Now while doing so I notice two discolorations on the underside of her jaw. Can anyone give me an idea of just what it might be & how concerned I should be? I've tried attaching an image. let me know if it didn't work.

Hmmmmm . . . it doesn't look like anything is really "wrong". I would just maybe keep an eye on it. It's probably just a pigmentation thing & nothing to worry about.
